Based on 3,177 reviewsImpiccetta is widely praised for its authentic Roman cuisine, attracting a predominantly local clientele that values traditional flavors and generous portion sizes. Reviewers frequently highlight the restaurant’s focus on classic dishes such as amatriciana, carbonara, and cacio e pepe, served in large portions with an option for smaller sizes. The welcoming, homey atmosphere and attentive, friendly service contribute to a genuine dining experience. While the restaurant is slightly off the main Trastevere tourist route, it remains a favored spot among locals, often requiring advance booking. Some feedback notes the interior warmth and occasional variability in certain dishes, but overall, Impiccetta is recognized for delivering consistently satisfying, authentic Roman meals in a convivial setting.
The place was recommended by a colleague of mine. Many seats, lots of locals. It is just outside of the main area of Trastevere. Food was good, service very friendly. We really enjoyed our time.
If you want both an authentic Italian and authentic Roman Italian, this is the place. The resteraunt is just full of local Italians, no tourists really, and the reason for this is you have to book well in advance, which we fortunate as we were being hosted by Italian friends who live in Rome. The food was absolutely sensational!! The pasta comes in three portions sizes and the portions are massive, so stick to the 160g is advised. We must have had 10 various dishes, which were all individually incredible. The bread comes in a brown paper bag, which all adds to the experience, which the evening certainly was. Undoubtedly the greatest Italian meal we've ever had, and what an atmosphere!!!
Wow, another amazing dining experience in Rome. This time, a very Roman restaurant with all of the typical dishes (amatriciana, carbonara, cacio pepe, etc) as well as antipasti's and second courses. The pasta and meatballs were some of the best I've experienced in Rome! The portions are massive so be careful, I asked for a "piccola" of the pasta and still could barely finish it. The meatballs were some of the best I've ever had. Service was amazing, good vino. Highly recommended!
Good food, easy to get in when other places were busy but that didn’t mean it wasn’t worth it. Pasta portions were huge. Pictured is the small size. Meatballs were okay. It was warm even inside
My group and I had the most delightful experience at Impiccetta in the heart of the Roman neighborhood of Trastevere. It was like eating at someone's home. That's how good it was. 100% authentic Roman cuisine. We will be back soon!
This spot was recommended to us by a local and it was incredible authentic Roman food!! Highly recommend!! Great service and amazing pasta!!
100/10. Must visit very authentic restaurant in Rome! Their fried zucchini appetizer is the best ever!
The best gem in the area… away from the hustle and bustle lays this quiet family run restaurant. The food is superb some of the best we’ve had in Rome and the staff are so attentive. Bonus is they are dog friendly and it’s full of locals and Italians. So good we went back again!
